What it is
Hada Labo Gokujyun Perfect Gel is a Japanese all-in-one moisturizing gel in a 100g jar. It combines hyaluronic acid, collagen and ceramide in a cushiony texture that covers toner, essence, emulsion and cream in one step. Applied to face and neck as the final routine step, or in a thicker layer overnight as a sleeping pack.

How to use

2. Take a small amount and warm it briefly between your fingers.

Do I still need a toner underneath?
Not necessarily. It is formulated as an all-in-one covering toner, essence, emulsion and cream. That said, on genuinely dry skin the combination of Gokujyun Lotion underneath and this on top works better than either alone, because the lotion delivers water and the gel holds it in.
Is it too heavy for oily skin?
It is one of the lighter all-in-one gels, and oily skin generally tolerates it well in a thin layer. In humid weather it can feel like too much under makeup, in which case use it at night only and something lighter in the morning.
How do I use it as a sleeping pack?
Apply a noticeably thicker layer than usual as the last step before bed, press it in, and leave it overnight. Rinse or cleanse in the morning as normal. Once or twice a week is plenty, and there is no benefit to doing it nightly.
How is it different from the Gokujyun Premium range?
Different function rather than different tier. This is a gel moisturizer that seals hydration in. The Premium range is built around toners and lotions that deliver hydration, with eight types of hyaluronic acid and sacran. They are complementary steps, not competing products.
