What it is
The Skin Wake Fermented Foundation Filtering Cream is a serum foundation, SPF42, built on a fermented beauty essence for a luminous, dewy 'glossy dense skin' finish. It melts into skin with buildable, natural coverage over pores and uneven tone, while caring for skin as you wear it. This is the refill with puff; the case is sold separately.
Why it's different
A fermented beauty essence base gives a dewy, luminous glossy-skin finish.
Buildable, thin coverage evens tone and blurs pores without a cakey look.
SPF42 adds daily sun defense; the refill slots into the case, sold separately.
How to use
1. Press the puff onto the mesh 2 to 3 times to pick up foundation, taking care not to overload it.
2. Dab onto the high points of the cheeks and blend gently outward over each half of the face.
3. Use the tip of the puff around the eyes and nose, patting rather than rubbing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this authentic?
Yes. We only buy from official retailers and directly from the brands here in Japan. Never resellers, never grey market stock.
We are beauty lovers too, so we know the worry, especially with something you are putting on your face. Authenticity is 100% guaranteed by us.
Does this refill include a case?
No. This is the refill with a puff. The dedicated case is sold separately, so first-time buyers need to buy the case too.
What finish does it give?
It gives a luminous, dewy glossy-skin finish from its fermented beauty essence base, rather than a flat matte look.
How do I avoid a heavy, cakey result?
Do not overload the puff, and pat rather than rub the foundation on. Building it in thin, dabbed layers keeps it close and natural.
Does it have sun protection?
Yes, it offers SPF42, so it adds daily sun defense along with its serum-foundation coverage and care.

What our customers are saying
I received this as a gift from Suzykirei. When I use it, I can feel my skin becoming more radiant. And best of all, it has great coverage! It covers the blemishes and dullness of my skin as a woman in her fifties. It may be better than the liquid foundation I'm currently using. I'm also happy that it has SPF42 and provides strong UV protection.
I received this as a gift from Suzykirei! I love Koh Gen Do sponges, but this is my first time using foundation. I also tried cushion foundation when it first became popular, but it was so sticky I avoided it. With this, just a thin layer gives a perfect finish. I use a Maquillage primer and just powder after foundation, and my skin stays perfectly hydrated until the evening. I didn't notice any dullness either. However, as other reviewers have said, it doesn't hide blemishes or pores, so you'll need a concealer or pore primer. It was generally good, so I'll keep using it.
I won a prize from Cosme. Thank you as always. This is my first time using Koh Gen Do's cushion foundation, but it spreads well with just a little and leaves my skin looking radiant and dewy. It's thin, but it feels like it fits snugly against my skin. It contains acerola fermented extract, which is perfect for my skin, which I've struggled with dark circles under my eyes, a dull complexion, and a lack of radiance. It contains Goso Wake Cocktail and azelaic acid derivatives, so it feels like applying a serum and completes my makeup! Every time I apply it, my skin feels firmer and more radiant, and I'm looking forward to using it in the future. Thank you for this great product.
This is the first cushion foundation I've ever used. It blends into my skin so easily, it's amazing! It feels like I'm wearing serum! I thought cushion foundations would be too thick, but it was completely different. I would definitely recommend this to people of this age group.
I won a prize at Suzykirei. Thank you very much! (*'▽'*) This isn't a cushion foundation; it's a fermented serum foundation filtering cream. It spreads softer and smoother than a cream foundation and provides more coverage than a cushion foundation. This type is great because it doesn't get your hands dirty. The first time I used it, I combined it with my existing primer and felt like my pores were more noticeable. The second time, I tried using the sample The Skin Wake Fermented Primer (Wisteria) on my cheeks, where pores are more visible, because I thought it would make my face look chalky if I used it all over my face. I used it only on my cheeks, where pores are more visible, and it gave me a beautiful finish without making my pores stand out. I think it's best to use a set. After about seven hours, I looked in the mirror and saw that it hadn't come off except around my nose, and it had spread beautifully. People often say my skin is beautiful for my age, but I'm in my 60s and still have aging concerns, so I'm very happy with how it turned out.
