Description
(1) Talc-free Pure Pigment Blend formula — true-to-pan color payoff that applies sheer and builds evenly
(2) Pearlescent pigments blur pores and texture while adding color — one step does two things
(3) 16-hour wear data tested — color and finish hold through a full day without reapplication
The NARS Blush N is one of those products that gets described differently by everyone who uses it, because the shade range is wide enough that it genuinely behaves differently depending on what you choose. A talc-free, silky powder that moves across skin without catching on texture, applies sheer, and builds without patchiness. It also lasts a very long time — reviewers regularly describe using one for months before seeing the bottom.
Ingredients
Ingredients
(1) Pure Pigment Blend (4-pigment blend): NARS's proprietary system that delivers accurate, vibrant color without muddiness or patchiness
(2) Pearlescent Pigments: scatter and reflect light to soften the appearance of pores and uneven texture
(3) Talc-free base: a lightweight, smooth-application formula that feels clean on skin and reduces buildup
(4) Soft-focus powder base: blurs surface imperfections while color is applied — no separate primer step needed
Note: NARS Blush N is free from talc, silicone, alcohol, PEG, EDTA, parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, and sulfates.
How To Use
How To Use
Tap a fluffy blush brush into the pan and tap off any excess powder before applying. Sweep upward from the apple of the cheek toward the temples in a soft C-motion. For a more concentrated flush, use a denser brush and apply directly to the cheekbone. To add dimension, use a shimmer shade at the top of the cheekbone and a matte shade just below in the hollow. Blend any edges with a clean brush. Lightly dust remaining product on the brush along the hairline, temples, or bridge of the nose for a sun-kissed effect.
Q: What is the difference between the original NARS Blush and the new Blush N?
A: The Blush N is a full reformulation — lighter texture, talc-free base, and updated Pure Pigment Blend technology for more accurate color payoff. The shade range also expanded significantly, from the original lineup to over 27 shades including new matte, satin, and shimmer options. The formula is described as noticeably airier and smoother to apply than the predecessor.
Q: Which NARS Blush N shade is best for beginners?
A: 777 ORGASM is the most commonly recommended starting point — it is a peach-pink with a subtle gold shimmer that complements a wide range of skin tones and reads as a natural flush rather than obvious blush. 920 SEX APPEAL (matte soft peach) is another safe first pick for those who prefer a completely matte finish.
Q: How do I keep the color from going on too heavy?
A: Tap the brush on the edge of the compact after loading it, then apply with a light hand using circular motions. The formula is designed to build gradually, so starting sheer and layering is easier than trying to blend out too much. A large fluffy brush gives a softer result; a denser brush gives more intensity.
Q: Is NARS Blush N refillable?
A: Yes. NARS offers a refill version (Blush N Refill) that fits the new compact design, sold separately at a lower price point. This makes it more economical and sustainable for regular users.
Q: Does NARS Blush N work as a highlighter?
A: The shimmer shades — particularly ORGASM, ORGASM X, and TAJ MAHAL — double effectively as highlighters when pressed lightly onto the tops of the cheekbones with a fingertip or small brush. The matte shades work well for contouring and shading when used at the hollows of the cheeks.

I wanted to go blushless, but I felt like my face looked dull without anything on, so I wanted a brown blush that would blend in well with my skin, and this is the first time I've purchased this since the redesign. I think the case is more sturdy than before. I've bought the previous version twice, but it broke both times. The color is just right, not too dark or too light. Even when I wear a mask, the color somehow lingers into the evening. I'm also planning to buy the 920 version.
It's great that you can't go wrong with layering subdued colors.
907 is described as "mauve pink & gold shimmer," but when I apply it to my hands, it feels more like red than mauve, with hints of brown or burgundy. The delicate gold pearl (glitter?) gives it a hint of yellow, so it blends in nicely with my warm-toned skin without standing out. I don't like blushes with a strong pearly or shimmery feel because they accentuate pores, but this one doesn't. Rather, the pearly feel gives my skin a smooth, radiant look, not just in spots. At first glance, it looks dark and intense, but the color is adjustable, making it easier to use than I expected. It's close to my own complexion, and I loved the color.
I use it to soften any redness on my skin, or to adjust the color when my blush is too dark. I think it's a useful color to have on hand.
I've always been interested in NARS blush, so I bought the mini size. Blush never runs out, and this amount is just perfect! The colors are cute and have great pigmentation, and they go well with any makeup look. I hope they release more mini sizes of their other colors!
