How to use
Refilling Instructions 1: Wash the bottle and pump and dry thoroughly. *12: Hold the part with the mark on the top and cut it in the direction of the arrow. *23: Insert the spout into the bottle and pour slowly. *3 This product is for refilling. Be sure to refill into the Botanist Santal Repair Oil in Treatment bottle. *1 If the bottle is not dried properly, bacteria may grow. *2 Holding the body of the bottle may cause the contents to spill out. *3 Be sure to place the bottle on a flat surface before refilling. Drain the water and massage an appropriate amount into your hair, focusing on the mid-lengths and ends. Rinse until smooth. Applying from the roots of your hair can cause stickiness, so be sure to focus on the ends.

Will I pay customs or import fees?
US orders: No. As of July 1, 2026, all US orders ship DDP (duties delivered prepaid), meaning we prepay all import duties on our end. Nothing is due at your door.
Orders outside the US: Possibly. Duties and import taxes are set by your local customs authority and are not collected at checkout, so any charges on delivery are your responsibility.

Even after rinsing, my hair is still smooth, probably because of the oil, so even though my hair is highly damaged, I can get by with just this shampoo without any treatment. I still have no problems. It smells great!
The scent is so good!!
I've used Botanist in the past, but I don't remember how it felt to use, so I guess that's why it left such a weak impression on me. However, this time I was attracted to the woody scent and tried a sample. My hair is dry, but it didn't feel rough, and the generous amount of foam made washing it pleasant. I prefer treatments that are a little more moisturizing and heavy. The scent was nice and unique, but perhaps a bit more woodsy? I think a more refreshing woody scent would have been better. It had a strong incense-like quality, or perhaps a bit astringent. I think it's good to use occasionally for a change of pace, but I'm not sure about using it every day.
It's an oil-in shampoo, so my hair became smooth and less tangled just by using the shampoo. However, the oil is still quite heavy. I think it's best to avoid it if you have an oily scalp. I made sure to wash my scalp thoroughly and took the time to pre-wash and rinse, otherwise my scalp would get itchy. I couldn't get used to the scent at first, but I gradually began to think it was really nice. It's a unisex scent, and it's not like a typical shampoo in a good way. The scent is really nice, so I think it's worth trying just for that.
