Azulene is a compound known as the second CICA, and is also used in Korean skincare. This ingredient has been formulated in Japan for comfortable daily use (´∀｀=) Its smooth, moisturizing texture blends easily into the skin! It's non-sticky, so it's easy to use even before applying makeup.
My skin always gets rough around my period, but I was surprised that this didn't sting at all. It's a light, refreshing serum that blends in instantly the moment I apply it. It looks slightly bluish, but it's actually color-free and looks beautiful. It's not sticky at all, yet it really does hydrate my skin. I have combination skin and don't like heavy serums, so I really like the feel of this serum. I didn't experience any irritation, even during periods when my skin is prone to redness or stinging. I imagined azulene would cause stinging, but this doesn't feel that way at all; in fact, it feels soothing. Simply applying it after applying toner leaves my skin feeling soft and toned, making subsequent skincare easier. It's also lightweight enough that it won't interfere with makeup, even when used in the morning. I use Hitohada's lotion, serum, and cream. The serum has a thick texture but isn't sticky, so I use it not only at night but also in the morning!
