I'm sad to read such bad reviews...! The regular Merit was surprisingly good, so I bought the cool type in the summer. At first, I wondered if it didn't have much of a menthol feel, but as I washed, it gradually became more refreshing. It's very refreshing! It's perfect for me, who is busy raising children and doesn't meet people because of remote work. Even when I do meet people, it doesn't make my hair dry, and it leaves my scalp feeling refreshed, so I guess this isn't so bad. I use a treatment when I have important matters to attend to, but this is enough for everyday use. I'll buy it again next summer, so please keep selling it (I really hope it stays on sale)
I shampoo twice a day, so I use this the first time. My usual routine is to pre-wash thoroughly, then Merit, then my usual shampoo and conditioner, but I want to keep using Merit this summer! It leaves my scalp feeling incredibly cool and refreshing! The cooling sensation subsides by the time I get out of the bath, but I think it's more reassuring than something that lasts for a long time. Maybe because it's a rinse-in formula, my hair doesn't tangle as much, and I feel like I'm losing less hair the second time I shampoo. My scalp hasn't been feeling great since the heat started, but the itchiness and discomfort are gone, so I'm glad I bought it.
I use the normal type as a pre-shampoo and this for the main wash. It's sufficient for short bob hair with no color or perm and no damage. The only drawback is that the cooling effect is weaker than I expected. The cooling effect wears off after rinsing completely, so it's probably fine if you want to know if you've rinsed thoroughly and minimize irritation. You can buy a smooth-looking bottle at Seria for 100 yen, so it's a good deal to get the refill.
It makes your scalp feel refreshed.
I don't often use rinse-in shampoos because I have the impression that they don't lather well and are harsh, but I bought one last summer because it was too hot and I wanted to save time. This year, I couldn't stand the heat anymore, so I bought another one (lol). It lathers well, cleanses clean, and has a refreshing mint scent that's invigorating, making it suitable for both men and women. It cleanses thoroughly from the scalp and reduces dandruff and itching. It rinses quickly, saving time, and the harsh feeling during washing is tolerable. However, my hair tends to become dry after drying, so I still need a conditioner. Aside from cleaning my hair, this product thoroughly removes dirt with just one bottle and doesn't damage it too much. I recommend it for those who are looking to save time and can't stand the heat. However, the cooling sensation was less than I expected, so I would have liked a more crisp, refreshing menthol feel. This may be difficult, since it's a mildly acidic shampoo suitable for both adults and children. If there was a super-cool shampoo that left my hair feeling cool for a while even after washing, I'd definitely use it in the summer. With temperatures rising due to global warming, it seems like demand for these kinds of cooling products will increase every year.
