What it is
ETVOS Balancing VC Clear Essence is a Japanese targeted serum, 25g, for pores and blemish-prone skin. Pressed onto congested areas after toner, it uses a vitamin C derivative and azelaic acid to refine rough, bumpy texture and the look of pores, while ceramides keep the skin barrier comfortable. It suits adult breakouts and uneven zones.
Why it's different
It pairs a vitamin C derivative with azelaic acid to target rough texture, breakouts, and the look of pores.
Ceramides support the barrier, so it stays comfortable on the reactive skin that often comes with breakouts.
It is a partial-use serum, made to spot-treat congested zones rather than the whole face.
Key ingredients
Vitamin C derivative: refines the look of pores and uneven tone
Azelaic acid: targets rough, bumpy, breakout-prone texture
Ceramides: support the barrier so skin stays comfortable
How to use
1. After cleansing and toner, take a small amount.
2. Press it onto pore-prone or bumpy areas, like the nose, chin, and cheeks.
3. Smooth the edges into the surrounding skin.
4. Follow with moisturizer.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this authentic?
Yes. We only buy from official retailers and directly from the brands here in Japan. Never resellers, never grey market stock.
We are beauty lovers too, so we know the worry, especially with something you are putting on your face. Authenticity is 100% guaranteed by us.
Is this for the whole face or just spots?
It is a partial-use serum, meant to target pore-prone and bumpy areas like the nose, chin, and breakout zones. You can use it more widely, but it is designed for focused treatment.
What does azelaic acid do here?
Azelaic acid targets rough, bumpy texture and blemish-prone skin, helping smooth the surface and even the look of tone. It is paired with a vitamin C derivative and barrier-supporting ceramides.
Is it gentle enough for sensitive, breakout-prone skin?
It is built on ETVOS's ceramide skincare approach to keep the barrier comfortable, so it is aimed at reactive, breakout-prone skin. Introduce it gradually and patch test if you are very sensitive.
When do I use it in my routine?
After toner and before moisturizer, morning and night. Press it onto the areas you want to target. In the morning, follow with sunscreen, since vitamin C pairs well with daily SPF.

I have to wear a mask for work, and I used to suffer from rough skin caused by the mask rubbing against my skin during seasonal changes and when my skin was sensitive. By applying this to the areas where the mask rubs against my skin, I no longer experience dryness or itchiness, and my skin stays moisturized until the evening. A small amount goes a long way, and it's great value for money, so I'm giving it seven stars. It's like a lucky charm.
I'm repurchasing from the previous product. I'll mainly compare it to the previous product. ●Usage: It's almost the same as the previous product. There's no irritation. However, it seems like the immediate effect took a little longer, even if it was just a little! (Perhaps my skin has simply gotten used to it?) ●Price: I see it as a substantial price increase (lol). They go to the trouble of clearly stating the azelaic acid derivative ratio and mentioning the addition of new ingredients to promote the upgrade, but I feel like the immediate effect has actually declined slightly. While the ratio is clearly stated, it doesn't say it's been increased, so while the amount remains the same, I suspect the ratio may have been slightly lowered due to the addition of the new ingredients. (lol) ●Comparison with the previous product: I felt that the previous product was better in terms of improving rough skin. ●Future Repurchases: This product is believed to be the oldest product containing azelaic acid derivatives, so I feel more confident that they have more knowledge about azelaic acid derivatives than the more recent products that have become popular. I will probably repurchase.
It's a lifesaver when you have acne or are about to get it. If you apply it properly when it first appears, it will calm down considerably by the next morning and prevent it from getting worse. It's also good value for money because you can use it in specific areas.
I bought this because I often get acne. At first, I was skeptical after the store clerk recommended it, but it's so convenient and has become one of my favorites. I tried other products, but I kept coming back to it because I realized how stable and easy it is to use.
I used to love the Spots product, but I ran out, so I bought this replacement. I like the azelaic acid, which isn't too strong. I use it on my cheeks and between my eyebrows, which tend to get red due to temperature changes and pollen. It's a protective beauty serum.
