ANESSA Perfect UV Skincare Milk NA is a Japanese sunscreen milk rated SPF50+ PA++++ in a 60ml bottle. The near-watery texture spreads across face and body with no white cast, and Shiseido's Aqua Booster technology means contact with sweat or water reinforces the UV film rather than degrading it. Removes with ordinary facial cleanser or soap.
Why it's different

How to use
1. Shake the bottle before use. The formula separates.
2. After moisturizer has absorbed, dispense a coin-sized amount for the face and neck.
3. Spread quickly and evenly. It sets fast, so blend before it does.
4. Continue onto exposed body areas.
5. Apply at least fifteen minutes before sun exposure. Reapply every two to three hours outdoors, after swimming or after heavy sweating.

What does Aqua Booster technology actually do?
Most sunscreens lose integrity as sweat and water disturb the film on the skin. Shiseido's Aqua Booster works the other way: contact with moisture helps the UV protective layer bond more evenly to the skin, so protection holds rather than patchily wearing off. It is why this is the sunscreen most commonly recommended in Japan for heat, humidity and swimming.
Does it leave a white cast?
No, despite containing mineral filters alongside chemical ones. The mineral particles are milled fine enough that the finish is clear on the skin. Shake before use, since the formula separates in the bottle and an unshaken application can go on unevenly.
Do I still need to reapply if it is water resistant?
Yes. Water resistance slows down how quickly sunscreen is lost, it does not stop it. Towel drying in particular removes a great deal regardless of the rating. Reapply every two to three hours in continuous sun, and immediately after swimming or towelling.
Is it worth it over a cheaper Japanese sunscreen?
It depends on the use. For daily indoor and commuting wear, a lighter and cheaper sunscreen does the job perfectly well. Where ANESSA earns its price is prolonged outdoor exposure, heat, humidity and water, where lesser sunscreens degrade. If you spend most days indoors, save it for the days you do not.

Milk-type sunscreens often have a noticeable squeaky feel, but if you shake this one well before applying it, it won't squeak or smudge, and it can be used as a makeup base without leaving a white cast, making it easy to reapply and convenient.
It's smooth and doesn't feel sticky. It doesn't leave any shine. I used to use a makeup primer to protect myself from the sun, but this seems to be enough when I go to the supermarket or go for a run. I just apply it to my face and neck.
I won it as a gift and used it for the first time. It's rumored to be essential for midsummer outdoors, and it adheres well! It didn't come off with just a light scrub in the bath, so I washed it more thoroughly than usual. I used it in winter, so I can't compare it to midsummer sweat or sunburn, but I'm looking forward to using it in the summer.
I always use it on days when I'm outdoors and don't want to get sunburned! It's more compact than the tube type, so I carry it with me for touch-ups! I also like that it has a light texture, is easy to apply, and isn't sticky. I only trust Anessa, so I always use it on important days! And I never get sunburned! I hardly ever get sunburned! It's expensive, but I recommend it! I'll buy it again this summer!!!
It was expensive so I couldn't afford it for a while, but I decided to give it a try. In conclusion, it's so good I'll definitely buy it again. It spreads better than I expected, is easy to absorb, and is easy to use. It also gives me peace of mind that I won't get sunburned. I was worried that it might get on my clothes, but that didn't happen. The only drawback is that it doesn't come off unless you cleanse. It says that it can be removed with just facial cleanser, but in my case it didn't come off. However, it's so good that I don't mind.
