What it is
THREE Balancing Protective Lip Bar is formulated with botanical oils to protect against the two major damages of UV rays and dryness. This lip balm leaves lips moisturized and smooth. It contains a unique blend of Kuroyona seed oil and domestically produced rice bran oil, both of which have natural UV protection properties. It achieves SPF20/PA++ without relying on UV absorbers or UV scattering agents. The instant it is applied, it melts and spreads, coating lips with a soft, moisturizing veil to support moisture and leave lips looking vibrant. Do you offer express shipping?
Yes. As of 22 July 2026, we offer International Express Mail through Japan Post. The cost is based on order weight and is calculated automatically at checkout.
Will I pay customs or import fees?
US orders: No. As of July 1, 2026, all US orders ship DDP (duties delivered prepaid), meaning we prepay all import duties on our end. Nothing is due at your door.
Orders outside the US: Possibly. Duties and import taxes are set by your local customs authority and are not collected at checkout, so any charges on delivery are your responsibility.

This is a repeat purchase. It's not overly moisturizing, but rather has a veil-like texture. It's lighter and easier to spread than a balm. It's a thin film, so I recommend it as a base for lip color. My lips burn easily (my lips get stingy when I go out in the summer), but this SPF20/PA++ lip balm is free of UV absorbers and scattering agents, so I like it for UV protection and as a lip base. However, the price is a bit high for a base, so I've been using more affordable products, only to find that this one feels better! I keep it a little embarrassing to admit, but when I can't find it, I dig it out with a cotton swab and use it. (See photo.) I keep it in my makeup box and only use it in the morning, but it lasts quite a long time. It contains orange peel oil, so it has a subtle citrus scent, but I feel like the other essential oils are more prominent than that. I could definitely detect the orange scent when I first opened it, but it seems to fade away as the days go by... The packaging is stylish and I like the feel of it, so I'll probably buy it again.

Since it was Beauty Day, I looked around and ended up making an impulse purchase. It's been a while since I last bought a three product. It has a three-esque aroma. (Hmm, maybe fragrance-free would have been better...) It's easy to apply and has a fairly light texture, so it seems like it would be great as a lip base. This is the first time I've bought a lip balm with UV protection, so I'm looking forward to using it a lot during the day.
