What it is
SENKA Hada Senka Perfect Whip a is a Japanese foaming face wash in a 120g tube. Lathered with water it produces a fine, long-lasting micro foam that lifts the causes of rough texture without pressing on the skin, evening out the surface with regular use. Use roughly two centimetres, lather, wash and rinse. White floral scent.
Why it's different
The standard Perfect Whip, the version that made the range a Japanese drugstore fixture. It targets rough surface texture rather than post-wash tightness.
The foam is fine and long-lasting rather than airy, so it holds its structure through the wash instead of collapsing after a few seconds.
White floral scent, against the pure floral of the Collagen-in version. If tightness after washing is your main issue, the Collagen-in is the better match.

1. Wet your hands and face with lukewarm water.
2. Squeeze out roughly two centimetres of product into your palm.
3. Lather thoroughly with water until the foam is dense and holds its shape.
4. Wash using the foam rather than your fingers, keeping pressure off the skin.

How is this different from the Collagen-in version?
This is the standard Perfect Whip. It focuses on lifting the causes of rough texture and evening out the skin surface. The Collagen-in version adds collagen GL, water-soluble collagen and other moisturizing ingredients and is aimed at skin that feels tight after washing. Scents also differ: white floral here, pure floral there.
Is it too stripping for dry skin?
It is a foaming cleanser, so it cleanses more thoroughly than a cream or milk wash and can feel stripping on genuinely dry skin, particularly in winter. If your skin feels tight afterwards, the Collagen-in version is the better fit, or use this only in the evening and a gentler wash in the morning.
Do I need a foaming net?
Not strictly, but it helps considerably. The formula is built around dense foam doing the cleansing rather than your fingers, and a net produces a firmer foam in a few seconds than most people manage by hand. They cost very little in Japan and are commonly sold alongside this product.
Can I use it to remove makeup?
No. Use an oil or balm cleanser first on any day you wear makeup or sunscreen, then this as the second cleanse. On a bare-skin day it works on its own.

Will I have to pay customs or import fees?
US orders: No. As of July 1, 2026, all US orders ship DDP (duties delivered prepaid), meaning we prepay all import duties on our end. Nothing is due at your door.
Orders outside the US: Possibly. Duties and import taxes are set by your local customs authority and are not collected at checkout, so any charges on delivery are your responsibility.

I wonder if it causes a little dryness because it thoroughly removes dirt, but as long as you moisturize your face after washing, it's ok.

I bought it because of the reasonable price. (Straightforward) I had previously used a very cheap facial cleanser in the 300 yen range, but as expected, it wasn't very good and I realized, "I guess it's worth the price after all?" However, I'm not particularly picky about facial cleansers so I wanted to use one as cheap as possible...around 500-600 yen...and this met my expectations. I haven't found the cleansing power too strong or my skin feeling tight, and I've been using it. I use a foaming net to create a fluffy lather, and the foam is so fine that it doesn't go flat at all and feels really nice.
