How to use
Stephen Knoll After Color Shampoo: Take an appropriate amount in your hands, lather well, wash thoroughly, and rinse thoroughly. If using immediately after hair coloring, rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water until the color disappears. Stephen Knoll After Color Treatment Shampoo: After lightly draining your hair, apply an appropriate amount to your entire hair, leave it for 2-3 minutes, and then rinse thoroughly. Adjust the amount used depending on the length, volume, and condition of your hair.

Do you offer express shipping?
Yes. As of 22 July 2026, we offer International Express Mail through Japan Post. The cost is based on order weight and is calculated automatically at checkout.
Will I pay customs or import fees?
US orders: No. As of July 1, 2026, all US orders ship DDP (duties delivered prepaid), meaning we prepay all import duties on our end. Nothing is due at your door.
Orders outside the US: Possibly. Duties and import taxes are set by your local customs authority and are not collected at checkout, so any charges on delivery are your responsibility.

I used this as intensive care after coloring. The color I used is said to fade easily, but it faded less than usual. It's also comfortable to use, and I feel like it has softened the rough feeling that's common after coloring. I personally like it, so I'll buy it again.
I've used Steven Knoll's regular color shampoo before, but I was curious to see how this was different, so I bought it on Beauty Day! Unfortunately, the product didn't arrive in time for my appointment at the salon, so I haven't been able to use it yet. I'll try it after my next visit to the salon and getting my hair colored!
I was looking for a shampoo for coloring my hair, and this mini size set seemed just right, so I bought it. I'm not sure how long the color will last, but it doesn't leave my hair feeling too dry after coloring, so I'd like to use it up.
Moist feeling
I've tried various products to prevent color fading after color treatments and hair manicures, including the same brand's Color Care and Napla's Caretect, but this is my favorite. It's a shame they don't offer larger sizes. It's gentle on the hair and moisturizing, but it doesn't leave it feeling flat. It lifts the roots and makes my hair fluffy. My hair is naturally thin and prone to dryness, and I have a sensitive scalp, so most commercial shampoos are too strong for me. It's quite rare to find a shampoo I can use every day without any problems. I read somewhere that shampoos designed to prevent color fading are designed with a milder cleansing power. Is that why? Dandruff caused by dryness has been reduced. I use the same Steven Knoll ash color treatment, and this one helps my color last about a week longer. I'm at an age where I'm concerned about dryness, so I need to do other things like scalp care, but this is sufficient for basic hair care. The floral scent isn't too strong, either. I buy it from drugstores like Stephen Knoll Corner or online at sites like Amazon.
