What it is
Melano CC Medicated Blemish Intensive Premium Serum is a Japanese medicated brightening serum, 20ml, from Rohto. Formulated to curb melanin and help prevent dark spots and freckles, its rich, concentrated drops cling to the skin and use Rohto's penetration technology to reach deep into the stratum corneum toward the source of spots. One bottle lasts around five to six months.
Why it's different
As a medicated serum it is formulated to suppress melanin and help prevent dark spots and freckles.A thick, concentrated single drop clings to the skin and reaches deep into the stratum corneum with Rohto's penetration technology.A little goes far, so at four to five drops once daily a bottle lasts around five to six months.

1. After cleansing, prep skin with toner or lotion.
2. Take a suitable amount, about four to five drops, into your palm.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does 'medicated' mean here?
It is a Japanese quasi-drug with an approved active, here a vitamin C ingredient formulated to suppress melanin and help prevent dark spots and freckles.
How do I use it, and how long does it last?
Use about four to five drops once a day after toner, on target spots or the whole face. Because a little goes far, one 20ml bottle lasts roughly five to six months.
Can I use it with other actives?
It layers into a normal routine after toner and before moisturizer. If you also use strong exfoliating acids or retinoids, use them at different times and watch for irritation.
Is it for existing spots or preventing new ones?
Its medicated claim is preventing dark spots and freckles by curbing melanin. Many use it consistently to help keep new spots from forming while supporting a more even look.

It doesn't sting and blends in naturally, which is great. It feels moisturizing when you use it. It also has a nice citrus scent.
When I use it in the morning, I feel like my sebum is under control that day. There's no visible change in my blemishes or pores, but if it can control sebum, I expect my pores will calm down over time. I don't like the oily feel, so I'm now mixing about three drops with moisturizing gel and applying it to my cheeks and nose, where I'm concerned about blemishes and pores.

I used up Ulcera C, so I switched to this one. Both seem to work equally well on pores, and I can use them without feeling any particular irritation. I feel that Melano CC is more oily, but I like both. Since it works well on pores, it may be better to use it in spring and summer rather than winter.
It seems to work for me. Even if there are products for dark spots, it can be difficult to find one that will lighten or remove them. This product has lightened my dark spots by using it regularly and in large amounts in my skin care routine. However, I think it depends on the person, so this is just my experience. I've tried products that cost tens of thousands of yen, but this was the most effective. It also improves rough skin. It's also effective against acne.
