What it is
This durable, long-lasting bath towel is made from loosely woven washi paper and cotton. The surface is made of washi paper, allowing for scrubbing, while the back is made of soft, washable cotton. It is gentle on the skin, lathers well, and quickly washes away excess oil. It also contains binchotan charcoal, which has deodorizing and relaxing effects.

Do you offer express shipping?
Yes. As of 22 July 2026, we offer International Express Mail through Japan Post. The cost is based on order weight and is calculated automatically at checkout.
Will I pay customs or import fees?
US orders: No. As of July 1, 2026, all US orders ship DDP (duties delivered prepaid), meaning we prepay all import duties on our end. Nothing is due at your door.
Orders outside the US: Possibly. Duties and import taxes are set by your local customs authority and are not collected at checkout, so any charges on delivery are your responsibility.

I've been buying this for over 10 years. The price is gradually going up, but I can't reach for anything else. As stores are closing and stock is decreasing, I'm happy to be able to purchase it at Suzykirei.
Since I started using it, I no longer find the roughness to be a problem. When it's dry, it's hard enough to be a bit of a worry, but when I wet it, it creates a nice lather, so I'd like to continue using it.
I tried it a few times, but the shower gel was difficult to lather, so I had to use a foaming net to lather it up, then apply it to my body and use it to wash my body.
I bought this from Yaman's website to balance out my coupon. I had no prior information and didn't have high expectations, but when I used it, I was surprised at how smooth my skin became. It was hard, so I just gently rubbed it on my hands and feet. I have dry, itchy skin, so I'm not sure how it will do in the winter, but I'm thinking of using it on my back, where oil production continues even in the winter.
I've been buying the white version of this (without charcoal) for a long time. I happened to find one with charcoal, so I went with that this time. It's made of washi paper, not synthetic fiber, so even though I want it to be firm to remove dead skin, my skin is thin and prone to irritation, which can be tricky. This one is firm, but somehow gentle on the skin, and I love how smooth it leaves my skin after use. I wasn't sure what the difference was between the charcoal and non-charcoal versions, but I'll keep buying it, whether it's with or without charcoal.
