I purchased this along with the treatment from the same series. As a shampoo, it thoroughly removes dirt and leaves hair manageable, so I think it's good. To be honest, I'm not sure about the color retention. It seems to last a little longer than I expected. I'll wait until I've used up the whole bottle before deciding whether to buy it again.
Despite the strong dye smell, it doesn't seem to dye my hair well. However, I think it works well as a conditioner. I started out using it for about a week straight, but now I use it 2-3 times a week and it's kept my hair looking good. I haven't had my gray hair dyed at the salon in about 5 months. Considering it's a replacement for my regular conditioner, the price seems relatively reasonable.
I don't think the color lasts noticeably longer, but I feel it's more effective than other shampoos. My hair feels fluffy and voluminous after drying, so I find myself buying it again and again!
I've tried several color treatments to hide gray hair, but I often found them a hassle because they required application on dry hair, required a long waiting time, and left my nails and fingers with the color, which was stressful. While some treatments deliver color in one go, they also made cleaning the bathroom a pain. This one can be easily applied to wet hair after shampooing, doesn't require long waiting times, doesn't transfer color to nails or fingers, and is easy to rinse out—all it takes to clean the bathroom is a breeze, so I use it every day. As for the color retention, after about five uses, the shiny, noticeable new gray hairs at my hairline have subsided. I wish it had been a little more intense, but I want to avoid the unsightly staining between salon appointments, so I think it's sufficient. Also, I don't find the conditioner particularly effective, so I plan to incorporate Fino's treatment about once a week. While this conditioner is likely to be a love-it-or-hate-it product, I really love the scent. It has a slightly herbal scent mixed in with the unique scent of hair dye. You use quite a lot at a time, so it's not the best value for money, but I'd buy it again. As I get older, I feel that my hair is really important, so I'm investing in it.
I've been buying this product for a long time, and it's great for covering gray hair. It doesn't stain the bathroom floor either. I apply it with my hands after shampooing. It washes off easily with soap. If you're looking for a transitional product until your next color, this is all you need.
