Since I cut my hair short, I've only been styling it with spray, but my hairdresser recommended gel wax, so I bought some. It's a translucent light blue gel. Depending on the amount, you can create that popular wet hair look. It's sticky when you apply it to your hands, but it comes off easily with water, so it's surprisingly easy to use. It dries smooth, so I recommend it for people who don't like stiff hair. I'm looking forward to seeing how well it will hold in place during the humid season ahead, so I gave it 5 stars.
I was just looking for a styling product with a wet finish when I received this and tried it out. I apply it all over my hair as a base for styling in the morning, and it gives a nice finish when I set it. Sometimes I use too much and my hair ends up stiff, but it looks natural and reduces the amount of sloppy, frizzy hair that falls out after setting, so I always use it when I go out.
I bought this to create a wet look at the ends of my permed hair. I've repurchased the same Devil Gel Wax 7.0 several times, but I wanted to try something different and chose this slightly looser version. First of all, since it's a gel, some people will love it and others won't, but it does naturally have a crunchy texture. However, the crunchy texture isn't obvious from the outside, and I like that it doesn't feel sticky once it dries. Also, the crunchy texture seems to be water-soluble, so it washes away easily when washed, which I like because it's surprisingly easy to remove. However, because the texture is looser than 7.0, I ended up applying too much, which made it difficult to control. Speaking personally... I love this series, so I'll probably repurchase again, but I think I'll go back to 7.0 instead.
In the summer, I used to tie my hair in a ponytail, but because I have very fine hair, strands that didn't fully grow out would fall out in all directions, so I would spray it down in the morning. However, the spray didn't set it properly, and because I kept having to repeatedly re-pin the strands to hold them in place, the style would come undone by midday, leaving my hair looking all messed up. It was also extremely damaging, so I consulted my hairdresser, who told me that using sprays to set my hair is a bad idea. Apparently, when the set comes off, the cuticles come off too. So, I figured, only the hair on top of my head and the sides were damaged. I quickly searched for a gel and bought this gel wax. It doesn't break down or damage my hair, which makes me wonder what sprays were all about. It doesn't set hard, but it does have some hold and hold. It doesn't leave my hair shiny like oil. It's a sticky light blue gel, and I have to wash my hands after setting it, but I think it's pretty good. The packaging is cute too. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to share it with a man?
It has just the right amount of hold and is not sticky, which is great. I like how it blends in with my hair quickly.
