This makeup base is perfect for my skin, which is prone to change due to seasonal changes and stress. The light texture spreads easily and blends seamlessly into the skin. When I use it, it naturally covers redness and dullness, brightens and evens out the skin, dramatically improving the finish of my foundation. It's also moisturizing and non-drying, which is a plus, so even sensitive skin can use it continuously without any irritation.

I've been using Ayura's serum and lotion for over 20 years. I'd always used Balancing Primer Sensitive: "I (refreshing type) in summer and mornings, II (moisturizing) in winter and nights." However, since I discontinued I, I recently switched to using "EX (thick) in summer and mornings, and II (moisturizing) in winter and nights." I've never experienced any itching or other issues with the products throughout the series, but I do experience acne and rough skin if I overeat or forget to remove my makeup. This seems to keep the condition from getting worse. The EX has a liquid glue-like texture, which is good and bad. It's thick and doesn't spill easily from the palm of your hand, and it feels moisturizing, but it leaves a sticky feeling when you turn it over, making it unsuitable for use before applying makeup in the morning. Using just this one product can leave a slightly dry, crusty feeling after it's absorbed. It feels like a layer of moisture is left on the skin (not like my skin has expanded, but like a layer is sitting on top of it...). Also, if I press the pump halfway to adjust the amount used and then try to use it the next day, crystals seem to form around the pump nozzle, which can feel gritty like salt when I apply it to my skin. Also, the lid feels unnecessarily bulky, or rather, sturdier than the product itself, which makes me wonder why, in a time when simplification of packaging and sustainability are being promoted... I wish they would sell the lidless version as a refill. Perhaps I'm being selfish because I have a series of products I can return to, but I feel that the ingredients haven't been updated in a long time and the anti-aging effects are a little lacking, so I'm considering switching to a different brand for the time being.

From the rainy season until the end of summer, this one bottle is all you need. In the fall, winter, and spring, I layer it with lotion and cream. It's like a protective charm for me, and I want to continue using it for a long time to come!

I thought Sensitive II was okay, but it left my hands extremely dry. I bought this anyway. It's like a thick lotion, but it's easy to apply and very refreshing. I think I'll need a separate product to combat dryness in the winter.
