Neal’s Yard Remedies Calendula Cleanser, 100g

I was concerned about dryness and prone to redness, so I was looking for a gentle cleanser. I had already used this serum balm and it was great, so I decided to buy this one. Apparently calendula has a calming effect! Emulsion-type cleansers can be difficult to remove foundation around the nose, but this one is a thick cream, so it removed it quite well. If I use a cleanser that doesn't suit my skin, my skin gets super dry the next day, but this one was fine, so I think it must have been right for my skin! However, with other cleansers, the texture changes as you swirl it around, so you know when to rinse, but this one never changes texture! I was worried about not being able to tell if my foundation had lifted or not, but after swishing it around a certain amount and rinsing it, it was removed properly, and my skin also felt plump, so I really love it.

I also use a frankincense cleanser, but I thought the calendula one might be a better fit for summer, so I bought this one. It definitely feels more natural on my skin. I also love Weleda's calendula (the same flower, albeit with a different name) products, but unlike Weleda, this one has a refreshing lemon fragrance. The key to removing makeup is to emulsify with plenty of cold or lukewarm water. The official website has instructions, so I recommend watching it. Unlike many organic cosmetics, this manufacturer recommends double cleansing. While it does moisturize, I did feel like some oil remained. While the same Neal's Yard products would be best, I use Kewpie Baby Soap, the oil-free Kiehl's cleanser, or La Roche-Posay Toleriane.

I think this is the best milk or cream cleanser (but for those who wear light makeup). I usually use the frankincense one, and occasionally I also use this calendula one. I like both. To be honest, I'm not sure how much makeup it removes, but my skin feels moisturized and in great condition after washing my face, when I apply skincare, and even the next day. My makeup consists of sunscreen, partial concealer, powder, and lipstick. Before cleansing, I lightly wipe my entire face with Neal's Yard Eye Makeup Remover. I then cleanse. Maybe it's because I don't wear foundation, but it doesn't feel like my makeup is completely removed, and I feel like the cleanser is gentle on my skin, so I really like Neal's Yard cleansers. I think this cleanser is suitable for people who only wear sunscreen or light makeup.

I bought this while searching for a good cream cleanser. My impression after using it was that the smell is a bit off-putting - it has a strange smell that's similar to alcohol, but it doesn't leave my skin feeling particularly tight and cleanses gently, so I think it's perfect for when your skin is feeling weak or between oil cleansers.

I used a sample I received from Suzykirei. It had a woody, plant-like scent, but it was a little strong. It was fine once I got used to it, but even though I usually wear light makeup, when I used this makeup remover in the bath, washed my face, and then applied a wipe-off lotion after the bath, it removed an incredible amount of dirt...but it didn't remove any makeup at all. I had high hopes for this product from Neal's Yard, so it's disappointing.
