Applied straight from the bullet, it transforms to a gel on contact, combining the shine of a gloss, the colour of a lipstick, and the comfort of a balm. Is this a lipstick or a gloss?
Both, which is the point of it. It comes in a bullet and gives lipstick-level colour, but the oil-based gel formula delivers shine you would normally only get from a gloss. Dior states it is non-sticky, so it does not have the tacky feel a gloss can leave.
How much should I wind up the bullet?
No more than 2mm at a time. Dior warns that the formula is deliberately soft, so winding it up too far can scratch or break the bullet. Worth knowing before the first use, since this is easy to do by accident.
How do I get the fullest colour from it?
Dior suggests prepping with a lip balm first, then blotting with a tissue to smooth the surface. Apply across the whole lip towards the cupid's bow, blend, then add a second coat to the centre of the upper and lower lip for a luminous finish.
