It's been a while since I last used cushion foundation. I was torn between this and Prada, but I chose this one because it was reasonably priced and had a good deal on BD. Color 20fc was sold out, so I bought 30. I usually like glossy foundations, but this one has just the right amount of shine and isn't dry. I'd forgotten I even used it, so I haven't checked how long it lasted. But it wasn't that heavy. I can't compare it to other brands, so I'll give it a 4 for now.
I had high expectations based on the positive reviews. I have fair skin and am prone to redness, and while this product did a decent job of covering my redness, no matter how thinly I applied it, it still looked thick, which wasn't quite the finish I liked. I love cushion foundations, and my tentative top picks are Dior and No. 2 are NARS (both released this year), so maybe that's because I'm used to sheer finishes. This one has a semi-matte finish, so I wondered if it would feel thick because it adheres well, but the coverage was actually pretty average, not that it made my skin look particularly beautiful. The staying power wasn't bad, but the finish, staying power, and smudging weren't particularly appealing, so it was a disappointing purchase.^^; The included puff didn't work well with the cushion foundation. I'm happy with the included puffs for other foundations, but this one made my application look thicker and even seemed to smudge more easily... So, using the &be teardrop-shaped sponge and brush, I ended up with a mediocre finish. The price is about the same as Dior and NARS, so I won't be repurchasing, and it even felt a little overpriced to me...
First up is the limited edition packaging. The color is probably a good fit for those who use the brighter Cle de Peau BEAUTE Lumine. It's a semi-matte finish, and I don't find it particularly drying. I have combination skin, which tends to be a little dry this time of year, but I don't mind it breaking down or cracking. However, I'm not entirely impressed... Lumine wins out in the same price range.
Of all the liquid and cushion foundations I've recently purchased, this one stands out as the best. I've bought quite a few liquid and cushion foundations this year, but this one is hands down my best department store foundation. First of all, it comes in an overwhelming variety of colors, making it a good fit for Japanese people. It's advertised as matte, but it also has a nice amount of shine. It doesn't have the sticky feeling typical of cushion foundations, and it's amazing how it applies evenly and evenly. Applying it by sliding it from the inside to the outside creates a very three-dimensional effect. It sets into the skin after a few minutes, without any tightness or irritation, making it look like you have naturally beautiful skin. It's incredibly resistant to sweat and sebum! It doesn't smear even when I wear a mask (although I do apply powder). Even when I wipe my sweat with a handkerchief, the foundation doesn't smear on the handkerchief. It has a subtle scent, and if I add powder, it doesn't get stuck in my pores! Lately, I've only been using this cushion foundation and Clio (for my neighborhood foundations). Cushion foundations tend to be uneven and difficult to apply around the nose, but this one applies beautifully and sets well, so it doesn't crumble or break down in a messy way, making it excellent. I use this all the time during the hot season. It's become a summer essential! The container is also easy to use.
I was looking for a new cushion foundation, and after reading the reviews for this one, I was intrigued and had it touched up in store. I chose the lightest color. At first glance, it seemed quite yellow, but when I actually used it, it blended in naturally! It's described as a matte cushion, but when you actually use it, you can feel a slight sheen. It's lightweight and provides natural coverage with a thin film, so I'm happy that it covers redness without feeling thick at all! It's also very easy to use and doesn't smudge easily. It's not drying, and it doesn't come off even when I sweat, which is great. Personally, it's the best cushion foundation I've ever used! I'll buy it again when I run out.
