What it is
This Japan-exclusive spoon and spatula is made from 100% recycled aluminum from retired Tokaido Shinkansen trains. It can be used to scoop cream-based products. A uniquely Japanese initiative, the use of recycled Shinkansen aluminum was made possible through a mutual support from the Central Japan Railway Company, which promotes environmental conservation and resource efficiency, and The Body Shop, which has engaged in numerous sustainable activities. About Tokaido Shinkansen recycled aluminum: Aluminum material recycling was made possible by successfully developing a method to remove deposits from aluminum used in Tokaido Shinkansen trains and extract only the high-purity aluminum alloy. Compared to producing new aluminum, this method requires less energy, resulting in a 97% reduction in CO2 emissions and a reduced environmental impact.

Do you offer express shipping?
Yes. As of 22 July 2026, we offer International Express Mail through Japan Post. The cost is based on order weight and is calculated automatically at checkout.
Will I pay customs or import fees?
US orders: No. As of July 1, 2026, all US orders ship DDP (duties delivered prepaid), meaning we prepay all import duties on our end. Nothing is due at your door.
Orders outside the US: Possibly. Duties and import taxes are set by your local customs authority and are not collected at checkout, so any charges on delivery are your responsibility.

It seems like aluminum is difficult to use. I use it for body butter. The spoon part is just the right size for body use.
I bought it because I was attracted to the fact that it can be used as both a spoon and a spatula. I plan to use this one for skincare in addition to using it for makeup. Being able to use it for different purposes makes me feel more secure in terms of hygiene. One other thing I'd like to add is that it was larger than I expected!
I was looking for a good spatula for body scrubs when I found and purchased this product. The two-way design (spoon and spatula) is very convenient, and it's also lightweight! I use it exclusively in the bath, mainly using the spoon for scrubs and jar-type treatments, and the spatula for cleansing balms. One in the bath is enough for most things, so for someone who is lazy, this kind of product is extremely useful. I'll buy it again when it goes bad.
