LE WATOSA Eyebrow Paste N (610 Soft Brown)

I wrote a review in November 2019, and at the time I was on my fourth purchase, but I've continued using it ever since, and I've lost track of how many I've had. I use it the same way as before: I use the WATOSA brush to draw my entire brow line, then lightly blend it, and then use a pencil to fill in the outer edges and any missing areas. It creates a natural-looking brow and the color is just the right shade of brown. I used it when I had black hair, and it didn't look out of place. Now, it matches my lighter-dyed hair color. Sometimes I'm tempted by other products, but I always end up coming back to this one. It's become an indispensable part of my brows.

I'd known about Watusa for over 15 years, but I wasn't sure how to use it, so I considered purchasing it. And now, after trying it, I can't let it go. I managed to find a YouTube video from about 12 years ago featuring Saburo Watanabe himself, giving a detailed introduction to this product and explaining how to use it. Still unsure about the details, I took a makeup lesson at the Watusa Omotesando store. He guided me through the differences in my eyebrow height and growth patterns, and helped me decide which eyebrows would be easier to match, so it was a very rewarding experience. I apply this paste in small dots to areas where my eyebrows are thin or lacking hair, then blend it in with an eyebrow brush to create a natural-looking brow guide. If you want to add an angle or fill in more, you can add more with a pencil on top for a natural finish. Those with thick brows probably don't need to add any. Instead, I finished off with a clear eyebrow mascara, applying it to lift the hairs upwards, to create a natural, stylish, and loose-fitting look like a foreigner's. I used to be obsessed with drawing my eyebrows, but this product made me realize that I need to take a moment to calmly reconsider the three-dimensionality of the hairs, how to align them, the direction they grow in, etc. before plucking or shaving them. Eyebrows are a complex subject.

It looks like a pencil, but it's a fresh design that you pick up with a brush and apply to your eyebrows. The color is neither too light nor too dark, just right. After using this product, I use the pencil to fill in the ends of my eyebrows and any missing areas. I'd say it lasts pretty well. It won't come off unless you touch it. When my eyes get tired, I tend to touch the beginning of my eyebrows, so it comes off quite a bit at times like that. Also, because the lead is soft, it wears out faster than I expected, and having to sharpen it frequently seems like a hassle. It came with a sharpener as an accessory (^^)

I can't see any advantage to using it as an eyebrow brush, so I haven't been able to get the hang of it. There seems to be only one color available at the moment, which is disappointing as it doesn't suit me.

I've been using this pencil for about 10 years now. It's a thick, soft brown pencil that looks good on both dark and dyed hair. The barrel is made from a hardened, soft paste, so I pick up a bit of it with a brush and blend it into the beginning and arch of my brows, then finish off the end with another pencil (I use Watusa or Ettusais in gray). It blends beautifully, doesn't smudge, and creates natural, sophisticated brows without being too bold, so I can't live without it. I find it most comfortable to use a brush from Hakuhodo or Chikuhodo, which are about three times wider than normal (the Addiction brush is the easiest to use, but the bristles are a bit stiff and don't work well with this pencil).
