I'm not pregnant, but I love the sweet, soothing scent of neroli and have bought it several times. Oil is especially essential when my skin is dry. Massaging my skin with this oil after bathing helps me sleep soundly and moisturizes my skin.
I'm pregnant. This is a comparative review of the Weleda Mother's Body Oil, which I used for about a month, and the Neal's Yard Remedies Stretch Mark Oil, which I've been using for about a month since then. (By the way, I purchased the former myself, and received the latter as a gift.) Weleda has a thicker texture and is difficult to spread, so I applied the oil to my stomach after bathing without wiping it off. It spreads all over and then wraps around my body. It feels deeply moisturizing, and it still feels sticky the next morning. (It's not sticky, so it's not uncomfortable.) In contrast, this oil spreads smoothly, so I apply it after bathing, drying my body thoroughly. It spreads smoothly, so it's easy to move my palms back and forth. I can now gently massage the surface of my skin (although I'm pregnant, so be careful not to overdo it). It doesn't feel sticky the next morning, so I used to feel unsatisfied when applying it the same way as Weleda, but since I started massaging the surface of my skin, I feel like my skin has become more stretchy. Rather than the effects of the oil itself, I feel like this oil has a more comprehensive effect in terms of the massage. And while I'm not a big fan of scents, I love this natural, soothing scent. I overwhelmingly prefer this one for three reasons: 1) the light feel of the oil, 2) the effect of the massage, and 3) the very soothing scent I like. And because it spreads easily, it seems like it would be easy to use for massage and moisturizing even after giving birth. If I were to get pregnant again, I would definitely buy this product. I also think it would make a great gift (if budget allows).
As others have written, it's not a pump type so it comes out in a big gush, so if a late-stage pregnant woman tries to apply it all over her body, this expensive oil will run out in no time...lol The scent is great! I've used John Masters Organics, Weleda, and Mama's Care to prevent stretch marks, but I personally think Weleda spreads the best.
I received this as a maternity gift. You need to pump more than 10 times at a time, as it's not enough for the surface area of your body. I pumped it into my hands and applied it. However, it seems to be quite effective considering the amount of product. It has a nice scent and is relaxing. When I used the cheaper oil, I had to use body cream afterwards, but this one seems to stick to my skin and stay in place. That said, I'd regret it if I got stretch marks, so I used body cream just in case. I didn't get any stretch marks during this time.
I received this as a gift when I became pregnant. It has a citrus herbal scent. I personally like the scent and it's relaxing. It doesn't spread very well, so I use it in combination with a cream that spreads well. It keeps the area moisturized for a long time, so it's been working well so far.
