Frequently Asked Questions
Is this authentic?
Yes. We only buy from official retailers and directly from the brands here in Japan. Never resellers, never grey market stock.
We are beauty lovers too, so we know the worry, especially with something you are putting on your face. Authenticity is 100% guaranteed by us.
Is this a refill or a full compact?
This is the refill, so no case is included. Set it into the dedicated case to use it.
Does a powder dry out the skin?
No. It contains Japanese camellia oil and rice oil to keep the finish moist, so skin stays soft rather than dry and powdery.
Does it control shine?
Yes. A dual powder technology absorbs sebum and covers pores, so skin keeps a matte finish without turning shiny all day.
When do I apply it?
Apply it after foundation, pressing an appropriate amount over the face with a puff to set the makeup.

I have combination skin and am a powder lover. I've tried a lot of different powders. Some ended up being too shiny, and even when I chose matte ones, my eyes ended up drying out, or the color ended up staining my mask, which was a bit of a problem. I think this product is similar to Nars, but it feels softer. A small amount gets rid of the shine on my nose, and although it does get shiny after a while, it's not sticky, and it doesn't smudge even when I pat it on top of my makeup. I feel like I've finally found the powder I'm looking for. It also comes with refills, so even if you run out, it's cheaper than buying the whole thing, which is a nice plus! It keeps my skin feeling smooth, so I recommend it for combination skin!
It has a matte texture that softly blurs pores. It's colorless, so you don't have to worry about the color even if you layer it, and it doesn't feel thick at all. It also doesn't easily break down when exposed to sebum.

It's the beginning of summer. I've been reviewing various oil-resistant primers and powders on LIPS. I had accumulated points from Shu Uemura's online store, so I exchanged them for this Unlimited Washi Veil Setting Powder. When I tried it out, I was surprised to find that it also doesn't smudge (゚Д゚;) And there it was! A pressed powder that doesn't smudge! Inspired by Japanese washi paper, this pressed powder's unique dual powder technology absorbs oil, covers pores, and keeps skin from looking shiny all day. Even though it's a powder, it contains Japanese camellia oil and rice oil. It locks in moisture, giving you a moist, powdery look that lasts all day. Apparently, from the official website. This summer, I was saved by Yves Saint Laurent's All Hours Hyper Loose Powder, which doesn't smudge or dry out my skin, but this one doesn't smudge or dry out my skin just as well! This pressed powder from Shu Uemura is just as durable and doesn't dry out my skin! The pressed powder itself isn't too hard, so I apply it with a powder brush (Rosie Rosa's Powder Brush EX, which is really good). The finish is semi-matte, not too matte, but more on the dewy side, and it makes my face look one tone brighter. I felt it had a more toning effect than YSL's loose powder. It holds up just as well to sebum-resistant as YSL! Since I had the chance, I'm using it in combination with YSL's loose powder. I never expected to find such an excellent powder again at the end of summer. For loose powder, I recommend YSL All Hours Hyper Loose Powder. For pressed powder, I recommend Shu Uemura Unlimited Washi Veil Setting Powder. Of all the powders I know, these are the most resistant to sebum-resistant. The refill is ¥5,170 (tax included), and the case is sold separately for ¥1,210 (tax included). (It's called a compact case.) There's also a puff specifically for this powder, so if you want one, that's also available separately for ¥660 (tax included). I hope this information is helpful!
I have combination skin that tends to get shiny in certain areas, and even if I layer powder on top, it still gets shiny quickly, and if I overdo it, my skin feels rough and flaky. I read a lot of reviews saying that this is great for greasiness, so I decided to buy it! When I actually used it, I was able to keep my skin smooth and dry from morning to evening, without any nasty shine! It's a powder that doesn't have much color, and I think it's specialized for controlling shine and stickiness. It doesn't have much coverage, so you might need to use a different method for pores at the base makeup stage. Another great feature is that it's zinc oxide-free, so it doesn't clog pores. It's compact and thin, so it's easy to carry around, and I also like the stylish look that's typical of Shu Uemura. I haven't used it in the summer yet, but if it works, I'd like to buy it again!
