Do you offer express shipping?
Yes. As of 22 July 2026, we offer International Express Mail through Japan Post. The cost is based on order weight and is calculated automatically at checkout.
Will I pay customs or import fees?
US orders: No. As of July 1, 2026, all US orders ship DDP (duties delivered prepaid), meaning we prepay all import duties on our end. Nothing is due at your door.
Orders outside the US: Possibly. Duties and import taxes are set by your local customs authority and are not collected at checkout, so any charges on delivery are your responsibility.

Previously, I used cheaper shampoos like Lux and Pantene. About a year ago, my then-four-year-old started complaining of itchy scalp after bath time, so I tried a variety of shampoos that could be used by both adults and children. In the end, I found that Bioliss and Essential Barrier Shampoo were the best. They don't itch my child, are comfortable for adults to use, and aren't too expensive, so I keep buying these two.
Even though I buy it at the drugstore, my shampoo has been over 1,000 yen lately... I thought, wouldn't something a little cheaper be better? So I started looking. I was attracted to this botanical shampoo that was quite affordable, and with the packaging, it was bound to be refreshing! I bought it without doing much research, but... what a mistake! It was the type that left my hair feeling sticky when rinsing, which I don't like! The foaming and scent were perfect, and it didn't cause itching or dandruff, so it just didn't suit my preferences for how it felt to use... What a shame! I'll try a different type, but I'll do more research next time.
I first bought it because I was attracted to Gakki. I've bought it several times since then. I've also used the moist type, but I definitely prefer the smooth type. I like how it leaves my hair feeling smooth after drying and how it holds together easily.
My hair is dry and wavy from repeated coloring, so the heavy finish suited me, but I don't think it would suit people who are concerned about stickiness. I wouldn't recommend this shampoo for people who want a thorough wash or for people with short hair. I recommend it for people with long, straight hair.
It has a moderate cleansing power, and is not sticky due to moisturizing ingredients, so it's comfortable to use. It's also good value for money. However, the scent is a bit pungent, which I didn't like.
