It contains a variety of oils, including beeswax. It crumbles more easily than Vaseline and is a bit thicker than starch syrup. It's a loose balm that feels very sticky after application. A light dab on your fingers is the best amount to apply; if you apply it incorrectly, it can get sloppy. It feels like a protective film that lasts until morning. If oil floats to the surface and bothers you, I'll wipe it off with a tissue. I think those who prefer a smoother skin might want to avoid it. I didn't experience any itching or redness. I'm not sure what the scent is, but it's a combination of citrus and wood notes. I think people's preferences for scents vary. Be careful when giving gifts. I use soap, toner, and intimate cleansing oil, and I quite like their refreshing scents, but I don't particularly like the scent of this balm. I ended up getting acne the next day, so I switched to using a very thin, even application. I used it only on my cheeks before bed, and the next day, my skin looked more toned and less uneven. The scent doesn't linger after application, but it would be easier to use if it was half as strong. It can be used all over the body, and since it's relatively light compared to other balms, it's easy to use. I'm considering buying it.
