Even though it's matte, it applies smoothly. And yet it barely comes off! It doesn't dry out over time, making it a "what is this?" kind of matte lipstick! When I saw the color on the website, I was hesitant to try it because it looked too intense, but it's so thin and light that it doesn't look like the product image unless you apply a lot of layers. The color is soft and doesn't have the sticky feeling that matte lipsticks often have. It's lighter than MAC's matte lipsticks. (Theirs have a strong color, but I'm still concerned about the drying effect...) NARS eyeshadows and blushes have an American-style color payoff that can sometimes be too intense, but this one completely blew my imagination in a good way. There's a wide variety of colors, and the price is great! Whether you like matte lipsticks or not, this is a product I recommend you try.

I recently purchased a NARS set and got a mini size. Matte lipsticks tend to peel and show vertical wrinkles, so I usually only use glossy lipsticks. The shade 121 is also perfect for spring-toned yellow-based skin, and I'm feeling ecstatic!
