The inside is a milky pink color like strawberry milk candy. Contrary to my expectations, it didn't color my lips, but it did add a gloss. I have naturally red lips, so I don't know if it removed the dullness. It's a water-in series, so it's very moisturizing.
I bought this because I wanted to make my lips look beautiful while still maintaining the natural look of my lips when wearing makeup that doesn't emphasize my lips, but I didn't really get the cherry blossom color. That's disappointing. It's not a matte lip balm, but a type that has shine and moisture. It's good as a base for lipstick and for layering. I use it together with La Mer balm.
