M·A·C Powder Kiss Velvet Blur Slim Lipstick (Over the Taupe)

I'm terrible at lipstick. Until now, I've only been able to use super-safe pinks. Because when I apply color to my lips, my nostrils and puffiness become so prominent! The nostrils and the white space around them stand out. My nostrils, in particular, make a statement, like, "My eyes are here!" It's so sad. So, I thought a stylish matte brown was out of my league! But this MAC lipstick draws attention away from my nostrils and puffiness. And, strangely enough, it even has a buffing effect that flatters the shape of my nostrils. Why? For me, matte lipsticks blur the lip line more than glossy ones. So, I feel like they blur the surrounding features, making them look like, "Hey! This person looks beautiful if you squint!" It seems like it's better to define facial features more clearly at my age, but I can do that with my eyebrows and eyeliner. I chose this color because it suits cool undertones, but while it has made the area around my lips look more subdued, it has made the dark circles under my eyes, far from my lips, stand out even more. But I can fix that with a concealer! Hehe! I want to try some autumn makeup!!!

The color of the official image is quite different from the actual color, so a tester is essential. Some colors have a strong yellowish tint, so please be careful if you are not good with that.

I applied a matte lipstick that I used twice, and then added a glossy lipstick to make the inside of my lips darker. This lipstick doesn't come off even when I apply a glossy lipstick on top! The others do.

It's a rich matte lip color that can also be used as a blush. When applied to the lips, it develops a brown color that is browner than the photo, or perhaps a little orange. The photo on the left is Maximal Sleek Satin in Taupe, and the photo on the right is Spice World.

I was interested in slim lipsticks, so I bought this without even looking at the tester. First of all, the case and lipstick are slim, but they're a little long, making them a bit unsuitable for small bags. However, the case's design and texture are nice, and the matte finish means they don't leave fingerprints. And then there's the all-important wear. I've tried a lot of MAC lipsticks, and I like that they're matte but don't dry out. However, I found that this lipstick affected my natural lips more than Maximal Matte, pooling color in rough spots and making it difficult to apply to deep lip grooves. The feel and finish are somewhere between Maximal Matte and (regular) Powder Kiss Lipstick. Is this a velvet texture?! I chose Peppery Pink. It's a pink with less blue than I expected, with a hint of yellow. It's not overpowering, but it's a little more saturated than I expected, making it look a bit out of place on a full lip. Using MAC Maximal Satin Lipstick in Peach Stock as a light base gave it a nice, soft color, which I found very appealing. The color range is more subdued than other MAC lipsticks, and I personally wish there were brighter colors with less saturation. Personally, the price is a little higher than other MAC lipsticks, so unless I really love a particular color, I probably wouldn't buy this series.
