NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base

I've used a lot of different eyeshadow bases up until now, but they all ended up clumping together or crumbling just like when I wasn't using any. This one goes on smooth and stays on for a while, and it feels like it's the most stable of all the ones I've used so far. The glitter does come off a little, but it's the best of all the ones I've used so far.

I tend to get watery eyes, and it's the shape of my eyes, so my eyeliner and eyeshadow tend to smudge and disappear at the outer corners of my eyes. I've tried a variety of affordable eyeshadow bases. The price has risen to over ¥4,000, which is honestly a bit pricey for an eyeshadow base, but this one keeps my eyeshadow looking its best. The texture is somewhere between a cream and a liquid, and I apply just a little on the tip to my eyelid and quickly spread it. A tiny amount is enough, and it's naturally smooth, so it's not sticky. With moisturizing eyeshadow bases, my eyeshadow tends to accumulate in the crease of my double eyelid and end up looking messy. This eyeshadow base is resistant to tears and sebum, making it perfect for my watery eyes and oily skin. If I use it on work days, my eye makeup stays in place until the evening after I apply it in the morning. The only noticeable change is that my eyeshadow color may have faded a little. Of course, it fades quite a bit after a day at Disney, but I've given up on those days (lol). I love eye makeup, so I had a lot of problems: it pools in the crease of my double eyelid, smudges, my eyeliner transfers to my lower lid, and my eyeliner disappears at the outer corner of my eye... Using this product has really reduced those problems, and I've started to love eye makeup even more. It seems like 4,000 yen for this size?! But it lasts a long time, so maybe it's not such a bad value. It would be better if I could see how much is left. Lately, it's become so dry I can't even tell if it's even on (lol). There are some affordable products that I feel are good for the price, but they just can't compete with NARS, so I've stopped trying out different products and just use this one. I even bought one to stock up on. I'd like to buy MAC's eyeshadow base sometime and compare them.

I used to love the too faced eyeshadow base, but they withdrew from Japan, and ever since then, I've been searching for the perfect eyeshadow base. On my eyelids, Lunasol pooled in my double eyelids and crumbled messily; Addiction crumbled messily as well; Canmake didn't really notice a difference whether I wore it or not; and Mac was drying, but the eyeshadow lasted well, though I found it difficult to get the right amount out of the tube. Compared to the four above, NARS's is the best! The eyeshadow lasts well, and the tip type means my hands don't get dirty! I have very dry skin, so it's not completely dry, but it's less drying than Mac's. It's been a while since I've found an eyeshadow base that suits me, but I've finally found one I want to repurchase!

I wanted to try a good eyeshadow base, so I bought this. The glitter adheres beautifully, and the color comes out beautifully! I'm glad I bought it.
