Although it's called salt, Epsom salt is actually not salt at all. Epsom salt is pure crystals of magnesium sulfate. It was discovered in the Epsom region of England in the 15th or 16th century and is said to have been named after its white color and resemblance to salt. This is a special product made using the only magnesium sulfate produced in Japan through a complete refining process, achieving a purity of 99.99% through a recrystallization method.
