I used both the pink and red testers. The color barely comes out. The pink is almost transparent with a whitish tint, and the red is just a little tinted. It's thick, adheres well, and is sticky. It feels like glue or syrup. It seems like it might get on your hair. I don't think it's necessary to use this in terms of color or appearance.
