How To Use

I've been interested in BAUM for a long time, so I found a sample on a flea market site and tried it out. First of all, I absolutely loved the scent. I don't mind the small details, so that alone would usually be enough to make me buy it, but... it's expensive!!! I just want it to remove my makeup, so I hesitate to spend 4,400 yen on a makeup remover, sorry... If I were a millionaire, I'd give it 7 stars, what a shame.

Some oil cleansers can cause acne or irritate the skin, but this cleanser suits my skin and I was able to use it without irritating it. I need to use a remover on days when I wear mascara, but this one removes even heavy makeup well, and it doesn't dry out my skin after washing, so I was happy.

The scent is not great, so I don't know if it will remove my makeup, but it doesn't seem like it will. Considering the price, I'll buy Attenir.

I was impressed by the simple design, with fewer ingredients than other cleansing oils. It removes makeup just fine. It leaves a bit of an oily feeling, which made me a little unsure if it was really removing the makeup. It has a warm, woody scent. I used it in conjunction with BAUM face wash, which left my face smelling lovely after a bath. The scent has a very refreshing effect.

It cleans away everyday makeup without mascara. It doesn't completely remove blackheads, but rather leaves a moderate amount of white residue. True to its claims of "cleansing while maintaining moisture," it doesn't leave a tight feeling. I feel like a separate remover is needed for waterproof mascara. The oil is light and doesn't feel rubbing. I like the fact that squalane is at the top of the ingredients list. It doesn't irritate my skin during use, so it might be a good fit. The wood-grain patterned bottle is lovely. I like the angular shape, which takes up less space in the bathroom than a round-bottom bottle. The woody scent, characteristic of BAUM, is soothing. (Woodlands Winds is said to have a refreshing scent like the breeze blowing through a lakeside forest, with a clean, refreshing, fruity scent...) BAUM is a Shiseido brand, costing ¥4,400 for 180ml, but if Shiseido's Skincare Perfect Oil Cleansing, also from Shiseido, were available for ¥4,070 for 180ml, I'd probably buy that instead. BAUM seems to have more natural ingredients, but the difference isn't really noticeable on the skin, so I was wondering if that's a good thing and if it's environmentally friendly.
