It pairs perfectly with semi-matt foundations with a slightly firmer texture. I originally used RMK liquid foundation, and I loved the RMK flat brush. However, when I switched to Lancôme foundation and Guerlain Parureux, both of which have a slightly firmer texture and quick-adhesion semi-matt finish, I found that they were a terrible match for the RMK flat brush. So I bought a Shu Uemura brush, which had good reviews. It turned out to be a very good purchase. It applies evenly and quickly. It evens out excess oil while applying, so it doesn't smudge. It doesn't leave any streaks of foundation. However, since it creates a very matte finish, if you want a more radiant look, you'll probably want to create that glow later with a highlighter or balm. However, I think the base is durable and this matte finish is just right. I haven't tried it, but I suspect it wouldn't pair well with foundations with a dewy, dewy texture like RMK. This brush seems like it would work well with foundation. I also use Shu Uemura's brush cleaner for maintenance.
